Development of Cartesian-mesh CFD for Moving Boundary Problems in Aerospace Applications
概要
CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) methods in the field of aerospace engineering can be considered matured for steady flow problems, for which RANS solvers are typically applied. The present and future challenging problems include those in which unsteady turbulent flows occur in connection with moving surfaces with realistic and thus
complex geometrical shapes. The aim of the project is therefore to develop and apply efficient Cartesian-Mesh CFD methods to treat moving boundary problems such as alumina particles in exhaust plume of a rocket, deployment simulation of Mars exploration aircraft, rotor of a drone, etc. The efficiency and the reliability of the methods will be validated by real-world test problems.
